We help ag technology providers draft data use policies, online privacy policies and terms of service, license agreements, data transfer agreements, smart-phone app user agreements, and the other contracts associated with storing and transferring ag data to cloud-based platforms. We also serve as the administrator of the Ag Data Transparent project, a national effort to help improve ag data contracts.

Creating driverless, robotic, and autonomous farm equipment presents new challenges for tech companies and for the law. We work with these companies to develop license and user agreements for operation of driverless technologies. We help navigate state and federal regulations related to worker safety around robotic equipment.

Farmers are seeing new opportunities with solar and wind production from traditional farm ground. Livestock farmers are harnessing the power of manure to generate biogas. We work with farmers and landowners to evaluate these opportunities and review contracts for these new revenue sources.

Todd Janzen is the administrator for the Ag Data Transparent project, a national effort to make contracts between farms and ag technology providers better. That means we review contracts between farmers and ag tech providers to determine their transparency.
